The faculty demographics presented here provide an avenue for increasing awareness of faculty diversity issues on campus. This information helps describe the current environment; recognize changes over time; draw comparisons between UCLA and other UC campuses, as well as comparable Doctoral/Research Universities and address areas of concern. This section presents information on the numbers of UCLA Senate Faculty age 60 and above and their distribution by school/division. In addition, it provides information on the average age and service years of campus top administrators. The data come from the Academic Personnel Office.*

Historical Trends
The number and percent of full-time UCLA Ladder Rank Faculty, by gender and by race/ ethnicity, are presented for the years 1990 through 2006. The data are gathered from the UCOP Corporate Personnel Data System. Only citizens and permanent residents are included in these figures.*
Comparisons
UCLA full-time tenured and non-tenured on tenure track ladder faculty are compared, by race/ethnicity and gender, with faculty at eight other research universities, both public and private. The data are gathered from the IPEDS Fall Survey, 2005-06.*
